I am a designer and sustainability strategist working across localised fibre systems, textile production and material transitions. My twenty years of work in fashion, textiles, craft and education has brought me an understanding of how materials form the connective tissue between our spaces, places and human experience.
My projects explore the stories these materials weave, whether adorning our bodies or our environments. Itβs my belief that materials are not passive, inanimate actors in our lives β they are scaffolds that cannot be separated from history, culture and consciousness.
In 2021 I founded design + research studio, Push Pull Textiles, to explore restorative approaches to textile creation and material use. I have advised brands, social enterprises and cultural organisations on strategy and transformation across material systems, realigning their focus on people, skills and ecosystems. My pursuit is always in restoring the balance between social value, ecological care and design practice.
My work has been exhibited locally and internationally at the Australian Tapestry Workshop, Australian Design Centre, Firstdraft Gallery, JCCAC Hong Kong, Crafted Vancouver and Raw Assembly.
